Now, what's got me puttin' pen to paper is none other than the Manyoshu, this old collection of songs. Way back when, the songs woven from people's hearts, they cross right over time, still stirrin' up our hearts today. But, let me tell you, gettin' those voices to our modern ears ain't no walk in the park. Today, we're gonna shine a light on the real hard work of transcribing the Manyoshu and the tricky business of translating it into English, and try to unravel this deep, deep world.
