思ひ川たえず流るる水の泡の
うたかたびとにあはで消えめや

読み：おもひ（い）がわたえずながるるみずのあわのうたかたびとにあは（わ）できえめや
Interpretation:
"Your thoughts seem transient as foam compared to mine. Yet, how could I disappear without meeting you?"
Explanation:
Ise, deeply connected with a man, quietly retreated to the mountains for a shrine visit. Upon her return, she found a letter from him, expressing his worry that she had disappeared, not knowing her whereabouts.
The poem was her immediate, heartfelt response.
"Omoigawa" functions both as a poetic pillow and a pun.
"Utakatabito" (ephemeral ones) describes men known for their fleeting nature.
Even though she portrays him as fleeting as foam, her affection is evident.
